Brideshead Redesigned

I was thrilled when Penguin UK asked me to participate in the new designer-based "Essentials" series. My book was Brideshead Revisited, Evelyn Waigh's classic tale of English wealth and opulence, with a touch of religious and sexual confusion. Right up my alley.

My first few comps:

That last one was cleaned up just a bit, and we have the final:

And here's a great overview of the series here.

  1. The final is lovely but really wish they would have gone for the winding scarf. Just love that.

  4. I just stumbled upon your blog after discovering your senior thesis books (which I wanted to buy) but I wanted to drop you a note and say that I love your work. Brideshead is one of my favorite books and I would gladly buy EACH of the covers above... simultaneously. The final product is very nice, but those first two are STELLAR! Wish more publishers had the vision to let talented people like you run amuck. I will be avidly following your work.
